We are all getting adjusted to our new roles here at home as Mom, Dad, big brother and sister, and baby sister! The days and nights blur together with feedings every 2 hours, lots of naps (for Mia, not so much for Mom!), diaper changes, outfit changes (we have a spit-upper on our hands here!), and visitors. It has been a little overwhelming at times, but I now can't imagine what life was like before she arrived and even though at times I am completely exhausted, it is all worth it when you see those little sleep smiles and big blue eyes when she's awake (all of a few hours a day!). Here are a few pictures of the lil peanut getting adjusted to her new life in the world!
Someone already has their Daddy wrapped around their little finger :)
Such a little peanut in her swing...sleeping soundly
Sadie Bear meeting her new sister...showing us how she will always protect her!
There's plenty of room for everyone to cuddle with Daddy!
Mia had her first doctor appointment on Friday, the 19th for her jaundice, which cleared up completely, but her weight was down to 6 lbs 8 oz (from 6 lbs 13 oz when we left the hospital), therefore we had to go back Saturday morning for a weight check. Thankfully she is now getting plenty to eat and gained 4 oz in less than a day, which makes both Mom and baby happy!
Oh, and we can't forget that a very important person in our life celebrated a birthday four days after Mia's - Aunt April turned the big 2-7!! Although we weren't able to go out and celebrate with her, she did come visit us for a cuddle with her favorite little niece. We love you Aunt April - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
